Following on from their outstanding Together #WePlayStrong campaign, showcasing the many positives to be enjoyed for girls and women participating in football, UEFA are keeping the ball rolling this season with yet another first class activation effort.
Dubbed #EqualGame, the new UEFA initiative promotes positive messages of respect, inclusion, diversity and accessibility across European football.
Check out the launch video below, one of a few available right now, outlining the simplicities of the beautiful game which starts with the question, “Why do we love football?”
From world stars Lionel Messi, Ada Hegerberg, Cristiano Ronaldo and Paul Pogba celebrating difference making profile power, right through to a diverse mix of grassroots players of varying abilities and capabilities for whom the game gives a sense of teamwork, confidence and enjoyment through fitness, #EqualGame has been excellently activated using the power of video.
In a bid to widen exposure with the support of their world class assets, the #EqualGame campaign videos quite cleverly don’t just rely on heart strings and atmospheric music.
As evidenced below, some fun with Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic has resulted in well over three million views on Instagram alone – and that’s just the last two days!
Again, player buy-in is the cause here, with both players running the clip on their personal Instagram accounts, where Pogba has nearly eighteen million followers and Zlatan has twenty seven million fans tuned in.
You can probably guess that we’re big fans of UEFA’s campaign tact, but it’s with good reason. The work is there and speaks for itself.
The #EqualGame website is also well constructed, using story power and videos delivered across slides for a different delivery method.
We loved Eddie Thomas from Merthyr, Wales’ story on walking football for example.
Congratulations and good luck to all connected to the campaign. We’re sure it’s success levels will only continue to grow.
From to the world’s greatest players; out on that pitch, we’re all footballers and we all deserve #Respect. To find out more visit: https://equalgame.com
